What push costs,
product by product.
18 other products and one question: what does the bill grow with? Every figure below was read from the vendor's own pages. Where a vendor prints no price, the row says so instead of guessing. Some of these rows are cheaper than us, and they are still here.
What one app pays a month for push.
Two other push platforms print a rate per monthly active user, so their bill can be worked out. Everyone else is a quote, a different unit, or a free transport without the automation.

Our arithmetic, from list rates read on 6 Oct 2026. OneSignal: the Growth plan, $19 a month plus $0.012 per monthly active user, for mobile push only. Web push subscribers and email are billed on top, and Professional and Enterprise are custom annual plans, so a large account may pay less than list. Pushwoosh: the Push-only rate of $7 per 1,000 MAU after the first 1,000, which are free; their page offers that rate to accounts that sign up by Dec 31, and once the estimate passes $3,000 a month their plans are custom. Firebase Cloud Messaging lists no charge at any size; its console has a basic composer and no journeys. OpenPush: Free to 100K MAU per app, then Pro at $99 a month to 1M.
All 18, as they publish it.
Grouped by the job each product does, because a per-message API and a per-MAU console are not the same purchase. The last column is the page each row was read from.
A console, segments and automation on top of Apple's and Google's delivery. The products OpenPush replaces most directly.

Delivery first. Firebase's console adds a basic Notifications composer with segment targeting and A/B tests; neither service has journeys or lifecycle automation. You build those, or put a platform on top.
| Product | Free tier or trial | Paid, as published | The bill grows with | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Firebase Cloud Messaging | Cloud Messaging and In-App Messaging are both listed as no-cost | None | Nothing | firebase.google.com/pricing |
| Expo push service | “There is no cost associated with sending notifications through Expo push notification service.” | None | Nothing | docs.expo.dev/push-notifications/faq |
OpenPush is a console on top of these. Your sends go out through Apple's and Google's own services on your own credentials. If the transport is all you need, it is free, and it is the honest choice.
Push alongside email, SMS and more, sold as one platform. Mostly priced by quote.

We are not one of these. If you need email, SMS and WhatsApp in the same journey, one of them is the right purchase, and the feature matrix says so row by row.

A different job: product notifications such as receipts, mentions and alerts, sent through an API across several channels and billed by the message.
OneSignal, plan by plan.

Read from onesignal.com/pricing on 6 Oct 2026. Email is left out because OpenPush has no email channel. Their Free limit of 1,000 monthly active users is counted across the whole organization, and their billing FAQ gives 24 hours to upgrade once it is crossed, before mobile push and in-app messages stop; web push and email keep working. Our line is 100,000 MAU, counted per app, with notice as the app approaches it and then at least 14 days.
How AI is priced.
An assistant costs its vendor money on every answer. Some vendors say on their pricing page how they charge for it; these are the ones we found.
| Product | How its AI is priced | Source |
|---|---|---|
| OpenPush | Printed and metered. 10,000 OpenTokens a month on Free, 20,000 to 110,000 on paid plans, and $20 for 10,000 more. They reset each month. Your own AI connected over MCP is not metered. | openpush.ai/pricing |
| OneSignal | OneSignal AI Agent and OneSignal MCP are listed on every plan, Free included. No meter is published. | onesignal.com/pricing |
| CleverTap | CleverAI Tokens by plan, from 600+ promotional tokens on Core to 6,000+ on Ultimate. Each capability charges a fixed number of tokens per response. Tokens never expire, and top-ups are sold. | clevertap.com/pricing |
| Braze | Action Credits, a credit model that covers every channel and certain BrazeAI products. No price is published. | braze.com/pricing |
| MoEngage | AI-driven Predictions is listed among the add-ons. No price is published. | moengage.com/pricing |
| Pushwoosh | 5 AI requests a day on the free tier. | pushwoosh.com/pricing |
| Knock | 500 AI agent credits on the free tier, then $0.01 a credit. | knock.app/pricing |
| Customer.io | AI credits at $10 per 100K. | customer.io/pricing |
Two rows beat ours on one point each. OneSignal publishes no meter for its assistant, and CleverTap's tokens never expire where ours reset each month. We print a number because a printed number is one you can plan around, and because your own AI over MCP costs you nothing here.
Where OpenPush is not the cheapest.
A price comparison in which the author wins every row is an advertisement. These are the cases where one of the 18 is the better buy.
- You only need delivery. Firebase Cloud Messaging and Expo's push service list no charge at any size, and Firebase's console has a basic composer. The journeys, the caps and the delivery funnel you build yourself.
- You are under 1,000 MAU and want email in the same console. OneSignal and Pushwoosh are free at that size too, and both include email. We have no email channel at any price.
- You send product notifications at low volume. The infrastructure tools' free tiers cover 1,000 to 10,000 messages a month across channels we do not have.
- You use the assistant heavily and never want to think about it. OneSignal lists its AI on every plan with no meter. OpenPush AI has a printed allowance and pauses when it is used up.
- One app is past a million MAU. Our price there is a conversation, as it is with most of the field at that size.
Their page, their words, a date
Each row comes from the vendor's own pricing page and links to it. No review sites, no forum threads, no quote somebody forwarded. Where a page prints no price the row says so. Sums are done only from a rate the vendor publishes per unit, and are labelled as ours.
Prices move, ours included.
Vendor pricing changes without notice, so follow the link before you decide. Ours is on the pricing page. A paid price of ours can change with 30 days' notice; the parts that cannot change for you once you have signed up are in the terms.
