Self-serve checkout is not open yet. Until it is, the button on a paid plan opens an email to us: we set the plan up with you by hand, and nothing is charged until you have agreed the plan, its price and its payment terms in writing. Prices are in US dollars, before tax.

An MAU is one unique subscribed device seen in a rolling 30-day window, counted per app. A plan is priced per workspace, per month. Every push feature named here, and OpenPush AI, are live from the Oct 20 launch. The Free-Forever Pledge, including the named conditions under which it can end, is in the terms.
How to pick

Two things decide your plan.

How big each app is, and how much you use the built-in assistant. Push features are the same on every plan, Free included.

1 · How big each app is

Audience, counted per app

Up to 100,000 MAU per app, push is free, on any plan. From there to a million, the workspace needs Pro or Premium; Starter and Plus do not raise the ceiling. Above a million, talk to us. There is no meter in between: an app at 150,000 MAU and an app at 900,000 pay the same $99.

2 · How much you use OpenPush AI

OpenTokens, pooled per workspace

Every workspace gets 10,000 OpenTokens a month, free. Paid plans hold 20,000 to 110,000. Sending, segments and the API never draw OpenTokens, and neither does your own AI connected over MCP.

The whole sheet

Every plan, row by row.

Most rows read the same all the way across. That is the point: a paid plan buys scale and more AI, never a push feature the free plan was missing.

1 · The AI decision step in journeys (Personal journeys) is available to every workspace today: you switch it on per app, and it runs within a small daily budget. When paid plans go on sale it becomes part of Pro and Premium for workspaces created after that day, and it then draws OpenTokens like the rest of OpenPush AI. A journey without it follows its rules.

A new workspace's free 10,000 OpenTokens are 30,000 for its first 30 days. That is a welcome bonus, not a trial: when it ends you are on the normal allowance, and nothing is charged. Workspaces created before 20 October 2026, and people who joined the early-access list before that date, keep free push to 1M MAU per app.

OpenPush AI · OpenTokens

AI has an allowance. Push does not.

Apple and Google deliver push for nothing, so we can too. An AI answer is different: every one costs us money. So the built-in assistant runs on a monthly allowance of OpenTokens, and we print it here instead of letting you find it later.

What draws OpenTokens

Asking OpenPush a question. Composing, refining and translating copy. Segment and journey drafts, and summaries. The AI decision step in journeys joins them when paid plans go on sale; today it has a small daily budget of its own.

What never does

Sending push, scheduled messages, segments, Intelligent Delivery, reports and the REST API. Journeys, apart from that optional AI step. Anything your own Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor does over MCP: that is your AI, on your account.

When they run out

The assistant pauses until the 1st. Sends and journeys keep running. Nothing is charged automatically: no overage, no automatic top-up. A paid plan can top up, and after three paid months gets one free reset of the pool.

Allowances reset on the 1st of each month (UTC). Unused OpenTokens do not roll over, and a top-up lasts until the next reset. The figures for what an OpenToken buys are measured from real use and rounded; short-term safety limits also apply, and the full list is on /limits.

The line at 100K

What happens when an app outgrows Free.

An app above 100,000 MAU needs Pro or Premium. Here is the whole rule, with its dates, so that it is never a surprise.

At 75% and 90%

We tell you early

An email to the workspace's admins and a banner in the console, as an app passes 75,000 and then 90,000 MAU.

At 100%

The clock starts

Another notice when the app passes 100,000 MAU. It names the date, at least 14 days out.

14 days

Time to decide

Move the workspace to Pro or Premium and the clock clears at once. If the app is back under the line when the 14 days end, nothing pauses.

After that

That app's sends pause

Only that app, and only sending. A message that falls due is skipped, not queued. Nothing is deleted, your data still exports, your other apps keep sending, and the pause lifts the moment a plan covers the app.

This rule is for an app on Free, Starter or Plus. A plan covers the whole workspace: every app in it, and everyone on the team. Past 1M MAU per app nothing pauses automatically: talk to us and we size it to you. An early workspace's line is 1M, not 100K. Running out of OpenTokens never pauses a send.

Early workspaces

Opened before 20 October 2026? You keep 1M.

Workspaces created before 20 October 2026, and people who joined the early-access list before that date, keep free push to 1M MAU per app. That was the ceiling when you signed up, and what you start on is what you keep. It holds on any plan, Free included.

The Free-Forever Pledge

Four promises, in writing, on this page.

  1. We never charge per subscriber, per device or per message. Plans are flat: an app costs the same at 150,000 MAU as at 900,000.
  2. What you start on is what you keep. The free push ceiling you signed up under never shrinks, and neither does the monthly OpenToken allowance printed for your plan.
  3. Your data exports free, forever. No lock-in, no exit fee.
  4. Free push stays free. To 100,000 MAU per app, indefinitely — and to a million for workspaces opened before 20 October 2026.
And the catch

Five ways the free tier can end, and no others.

  1. We close it to new signups. We can stop offering the free tier to new accounts, or change its ceiling for them, at any time. If you are already on it, you keep what you signed up under. Being early is meant to count.
  2. Apple or Google start charging for delivery. The pledge rests on APNs and FCM being free. If that stops being true, so does the arithmetic — and we would show you the evidence rather than quietly reprice.
  3. You send to people who did not consent, or split one product across many nominal apps to duck the ceiling. We email you first.
  4. An app goes dormant for 18 months — nothing sent, nobody signed in. We email, wait 30 days, then reclaim it. Your export stays open the whole time.
  5. We get acquired and the buyer decides differently. The pledge transfers with the company, so a buyer inherits it — but we will not pretend to bind a company that does not exist yet. If a successor changes it, they are held to everything below.

The first changes nothing for an account that already exists. In each of the other four: 90 days' written notice, nothing ever charged retroactively, your data still exports free, and we still never charge per subscriber. There is no clause letting us withdraw the free tier because we changed our minds — that is the whole point of listing these. Read it in the terms →

Growing past 100,000 MAU is not on this list. That is the edge of the free tier, not the end of it, and it has its own rule: notice as the app passes 75%, 90% and 100% of the ceiling, then at least 14 days.

Our arithmetic, from list rates read on each vendor's pricing page on 6 Oct 2026. OneSignal: Growth, mobile push only; its Professional and Enterprise plans are custom, so a large account may pay less than list. Pushwoosh: the Push-only rate of $7 per 1,000 MAU after the first 1,000, offered to accounts that sign up by Dec 31; past an estimate of $3,000 a month their plans are custom. Firebase Cloud Messaging is the transport OpenPush itself sends through: no charge is listed for it, and its console has a basic composer but no journeys.

Why it works

How is free push
sustainable?

Because delivery is free. Apple's APNs and Google's FCM don't charge per message, so sending to 100,000 users costs us about the same as sending to ten.

What's left is our software — the console, the audience model, the journeys engine and the scheduling. That is cheap to run once it is built, but it is not free: it grows with the size of the audiences we store and count.

So push is free to 100,000 MAU per app, and the apps past that pay a flat plan instead of a meter. The other thing that costs us real money is AI, which is why the assistant has an allowance and the smaller paid plans exist.

There is still no per-message fee, because there is no transport of ours to charge for. Your sends go straight to Apple and Google on your own credentials. Free push is the point, not the trap.

Straight answers

Pricing questions.

Do you charge per subscriber or per MAU?

Never per subscriber, per device or per message. Audience size decides which plan an app needs — free to 100,000 MAU, one flat plan from there to a million — but nothing is multiplied by your user count. An app at 150,000 MAU pays the same as an app at 900,000.

Which features are free? Is anything gated?

Every push feature is on every plan: push on iOS, Android and web, Journeys, in-app messages, Live Activities, Intelligent Delivery, A/B tests, the MCP server, unlimited segments, tags and templates, funnel analytics, caps and quiet hours, the OneSignal importer and the full API. There is no cap on journeys, segments or data tags. What a paid plan changes: the size of the OpenPush AI allowance and the level of support on all four, and the audience ceiling per app on Pro and Premium. The AI decision step in journeys (Personal journeys) is available to every workspace today: you switch it on per app, and it runs within a small daily budget. When paid plans go on sale it becomes part of Pro and Premium for workspaces created after that day, and it then draws OpenTokens like the rest of OpenPush AI. A journey without it follows its rules.

What is an OpenToken?

The unit OpenPush AI is metered in. Every workspace gets 10,000 a month free, which is roughly 80 Ask questions or several hundred AI-written drafts. A new workspace has 30,000 for its first 30 days. Allowances reset on the 1st of each month (UTC) and do not roll over.

What happens when OpenTokens run out?

The assistant pauses until the 1st. Sends, scheduled messages and journeys keep running, and your own AI connected over MCP is not metered. Nothing is charged automatically. A paid plan can add 10,000 more for $20, which last until the next reset.

What happens when an app passes 100,000 MAU?

The workspace's admins are told as the app passes 75%, 90% and 100% of the ceiling. From the 100% notice there are at least 14 days to move to Pro or Premium. If nothing changes, that app's sends pause until a plan covers it or it is back under the line. Paused means not sent: a message that falls due during a pause is skipped, not queued for later. Nothing is deleted, the data stays exportable, and the workspace's other apps keep sending.

Is the price per app or per workspace?

Per workspace. A plan covers the whole workspace: every app in it, and everyone on the team. One Pro plan covers each of those apps to a million MAU.

I signed up before these prices. What changes for me?

Your push ceiling does not shrink. Workspaces created before 20 October 2026, and people who joined the early-access list before that date, keep free push to 1M MAU per app. What is new for you is the OpenPush AI allowance: the built-in assistant now runs on the same monthly allowance as everyone's, in place of the per-app call limit it had before.

Can I buy a plan today?

Not from a button yet. Self-serve checkout is still being built. Until it opens, press the button on a plan to email us: we set the plan up with you by hand, and nothing is charged until you have agreed the plan, its price and its payment terms in writing.

What happens past a million MAU?

Talk to us — we'll say yes. Enterprise is sized to you, with a written availability commitment, and it is still never a per-subscriber meter. Nothing pauses automatically at a million.

Is there a credit card to start?

No — no card, and no trial clock. The larger allowance in a new workspace's first 30 days is a welcome bonus: when it ends you are on the normal free allowance, and nothing is charged. Join the early-access waitlist and we'll onboard you from Oct 20.

How is free push sustainable?

Delivery is free: APNs and FCM don't charge per message, and your sends go straight to them on your own credentials, so there is no transport of ours to meter. What costs us money is storing and counting very large audiences, and every AI answer. So the apps past 100,000 MAU pay a flat plan, and OpenPush AI has an allowance.
